Touch of Class Mighty Cardinal Music Parents:
We want to let you know a few things that are coming
up. As you all know, we are in full
swing with football games, District/State Choir auditions, and field
competitions, just to name a few things.
With that come a lot of effort and coordination, as well as money, to
make sure your child has the greatest experiences possible. We officers are excited about this year and
our growing Music Department.
Mr. Fox has conveyed his goals for the 2012-2013 school
year, as well as goals for future growth and development. The immediate goals are as follows:
·
New props to support field competitions
·
New props for Show Choir and upcoming
competitions
·
Choir participation during Christmas festival at
Silver Dollar City
·
A new equipment truck (We are growing and have
almost filled the current vehicle)
Some of the
long-term needs of the Department:
·
Another large trip for the kids involved in the
Music program
·
Concrete pad with turf on the practice field (to
better equip kids for competition)
·
Field retrofitted to accommodate field
competitions (seating is a big issue)
We are
committed to helping him obtain these goals.
We would also like to re-establish the $500 scholarship program for both
band and choir. Details will be provided in the future as the program
develops. Our biggest wish for the Music
Department is for recognition for all the effort our kids put into the Music
program. I invite you to join us for our
monthly Music Booster Club Meeting, the first Tuesday of each month, at 6:00
p.m. We will discuss upcoming events,
keep you informed on the fundraising efforts, and provide opportunities for all
to help where possible. We are also
working on a newsletter so that all may be better informed.

September 29 Show Choir Clinic
October 6 Valhalla
October 13 Ozark Mountain

October 20 Maple Leaf

Our fundraisers are in full swing this year. We sold
approximately 140 cups of Andy’s Frozen Custard at Homecoming, the kids are
feverishly selling lollipops. The kids
received order packets for our poinsettia program for Christmas. They are only $15 each. Patrons have the option of 8
varieties/colors. Orders need to be
turned in by October 29th, and delivery will be sometime between
Nov. 26th and Dec. 7th.
Thank you, in advance, for your support!
